I’ve had this idea for a tattoo for years… Create the charm bracelet of my life and as significant things happen in my life, add a charm. Well, as a part of my 2014 birthday celebration, I decided it was time and made this idea a reality!
First rule to getting a tattoo… get to know the artist. We sat in Luck 7 tattoo on Hollywood and Wilcox and really got to know Chris and Tomas. We talked to them about their previous work, their skills, how long they’d been tattooing, when the shop opened, who owned the shop, etc.
After we grilled the dynamic duo and realized not only were they good at what they did but they were hella cool, it was settled, I was getting my tattoo. The best part, I have friends who believe in the famous saying: all for one and one for all… So we worked out a deal and the tattoo party was underway.
Oh man! THE PAIN… I will not forget that pain! I’m the only one of my friends who cried the whole time (see photos below) but Chris told me it was because I got my tattoo on my ankle. He also called me a ‘G’ for taking it so well. So there!
We had music in the shop blasting. Brought some drinks. It was an actual party in a tattoo shop! In total, we got three tattoos and a piercing. Hung out from about 10p – 3a. Honestly, one of the coolest parties I’ve ever thrown!
Pros: Chris and Tomas are the coolest tattoo artists you’ll ever meet; It’s Hollywood Blvd. so it’s always bustling
Cons: The drunktards who kept rolling in the shop to ask to use the bathroom (huge distraction to my dudes)
Very clear on where she wanted her piercing
The final product
The Pain… Oh the pain!
One way to handle the pain… Go to sleep
