It was love at first sight as I perused Groupon looking for the perfect meal for a quiet Saturday night. The feature image captured succulent baby back ribs smothered in what looked like a honey-based BBQ sauce. I clicked, and found the deal that would change my life forever:
So off I went. Hoping, no praying, that the meal that would be delivered to my table would look half as good as that image on Groupon. As I parked on the street (no lot but plenty of nearby street parking), walked up the street and opened the doors, the smell of REAL BBQ tickled my nostrils.
The place had a neighborhood-feel to it, almost Mom & Pop, and there wasn’t a wait on this Saturday night. The waiters were welcoming and helped me to decide which combo I would get. They even brought over some roasted peanuts while I waited.
I had the baby back ribs and hot link combo which came with two-sides. My choices: BBQ Baked Beans and Corn (was being healthy ;)… Although I literally only got through half of my meal before I was done, the next day, my leftovers tasted just as good! I’d found it… my BBQ soul mate.
On this night, I didn’t find Ribs USA, Ribs USA found me…
Pros: The BBQ Sauce – you could put it on a shoe and it’ll still taste good.
Cons: Not the fanciest place in terms of setup and the liquor store right next door, but hey, I’ll take it!
