You know how you pass by a place all the time but never actually stop to check it out? That’s what Calle Tacos was for me. So one very hungry, very late night, I remember… Calle Tacos, the taco truck inside the building. Yes, this is clearly whats most memorable about this place. The fact that the counter is built like an old-fashioned taco truck.
Its not that large of a restaurant. Open, patio-style, with five or six tall boy tables max if you decided to “dine-in.” For the most part, it favors the quick in-and-out or to-go taco audience, which for us, was perfect!
Not only were the tacos great, but Calle also has margaritas! and not the fake wine coolers… like actual patron-made margaritas and shots if you need a little pick-me-up with your tacos! Though you can’t take the alcohol out (this ain’t New Orleans), it is a cool option to have.
Oh, make a note, if you want pico de gallo, remember you have to request it on your taco. They have a little salsa bar to self-serve your other sides but ummm… this place is open and in Hollywood so the homeless do sneak in to get some of them onions and peppers from the bar… #justsayin
Pros: Tacos are great; Quick & Fresh!; Nice outdoor-indoor atmosphere; booze if you want it; on Hollywood (in the mix); TACO TUESDAY (see pic above)
Cons: If its cold, you’ll suffer; open salsa bar is a little too open for my germaphobic tastes…
